Heritage Sets Fall Schedule

Looking past the summer months to the Fall, Hollywood Heritage is pleased to announce the following meetings and programs that will begin in October with the new season of our Evenings @ the Barn.

BULLETIN: Evenings @ the Barn will switch to Thursday nights, starting with the fall season, October 2004. All programs will still start @ 7:30 PM.

Thursday, Oct. 7: The Silent Society presents Anthony Slide, talking about his new book: American Racist: The Life and Films of Thomas Dixon. Signing follows presentation. [Free admission with book purchase.]

OPENING NIGHT, Evenings @ the Barn:

Thursday, Oct. 14: Hooray for Hollywood, screening of the Busby Berkeley classic, Hollywood Hotel (1937) along with a slide show on the hotel by Marc Wanamaker.

Tues. Oct. 19: Hollywood Heritage board meeting, Wattles Mansion. 6:30 chat ’n chew, 7:00 meeting.

Thursday, Oct. 21: Fire Forum. Fire safety for older or historic buildings, small museums, etc. Deborah Freeland, Area Sr. V-P, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Thursday, Nov. 11 (Veterans’ Day): Evening @ the Barn Celebrating the Hollywood Canteen and the USO. Participants TBA. Film clips/displays.

Tuesday, Nov. 16: Hollywood Heritage Annual Meeting at Lasky-DeMille Barn. Voting on new board members. Program TBA

THURSDAY, Dec. 16: Evening @ the Barn and Holidays Celebration. George Wallace, aka Commando Cody of the Lost Planet Airmen in-person with film clips.

Tuesday, Dec. 21: Hollywood Heritage board meeting, Wattles Mansion. 6:30 chat ’n chew, 7:00 meeting. Wassail, good cheer, etc.
