After threatening to cancel his proposed glass-box building at the NE corner of Hollywood and Orange, developer Steve Ullman was granted unprecendented variances and concessions by the city’s Central Planning Commission. This was done despite opposition from Councilman Garcetti, Hollywood Heritage, and the evidence in the Zoning Administrator’s report. Hollywood Heritage will now appeal the ruling to the City Council to ask for the original terms and conditions to be reinstated.
