 WHY YOUR DONATION IS NEEDED:
Besides the cost of defending ourselves and our work renovation
Wattles Masion, Hollywood is Under Attack.

Demolition of our historic resources is not only a loss, but often the beginning of new problems. There are reasons why historic district designations, environmental impact reports, cultural heritage designations, billboard restrictions and traffic mitigation were put into place, and there are reasons why they are being ignored.  Hollywood Heritage has worked hard to retain Hollywood as a progressive place, where the old can live alongside the new, where billboards aren't dominating the city, and where the Hollywood Boulevard Historic Commercial and Entertainment District, (which we successfully nominated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985) is recognized for the national treasure it is, rather than something to be ignored and replaced.

Please help us stop this type of destruction

At any time we are tracking 50 different ordinances and overseeing numerous development projects to ensure our historic and cultural landmarks are protected. When necessary we bring lawsuits.  We have won honors for our work, and recently won a CEQA lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles defending preservation.

We are also proud to have restored and maintain two of the most significant buildings in Hollywood, the Lasky-DeMille Barn and Wattles Mansion and Gardens which also require ongoing funding.

Thank you for your donation. It shall be used to Protect Hollywood's Heritage.
     Sincerely,
Hollywood Heritage
